Economic Enema: Bush Actually Perfect For The Job.

Let me let you in on a secret. I never voted for George Bush. Either of them. In hindsight, I would have voted for him the first time, still wouldn’t have the second time. Right now GWB is probably in the best position to help of any world leader. Why? This is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t moment. You need a guy who has nothing to lose.

With an approval rate hovering in the 24% range, you are pretty much screwed. Unless you have nothing to lose. He doesn’t have to be re-elected. He really doesn’t have to keep anyone happy. Now, to be fair, congress is running at 12% approval. They have plenty to be worried about. They have alot to lose. So G.W.Bush has a golden opportunity. One to o the hard thing. To do the right thing. I personally hate the idea of nationalization of any industry. As a stopgap it seems appropriate. Bush can get away with it. He can take the blame. He is pinch hitting for the team.

History is going to judge G.W. Bush in a harsh manner. My assessment: He kept me safe. He had the worst deal of the cards since Roosevelt. In the end, he was the perfect person for the global economic enema of 2008. Thank you Mr. President. Doing the right thing is sometimes the hardest thing to do. When popularity doesn’t matter, it makes it alot easier.
